Jolitz Family Video - William and Son build a telescope

William Leonard Jolitz and his 12year old son, William Frederick Jolitz, made a telescope together. First they ground and polished a 6-in parabolic mirror. Then, they built a 4 ft optical tube assembly with mirror cells. William Leonard Jolitz designed and fabricated a wooden equatorial mount. They mated the two, and soon that night saw the moon and planets with first light! (see also "Where Ben's Scope came from ..." and "Benjamin Jolitz Wins Science Fair Award")
